Second Languages

Dr E.P. Scarlett High School offers two language learning opportunities: French as a Second Language 3 year program and Spanish Language and Culture 3 year program.  The French as a Second Language 3Y (years) program and the Spanish Language and Culture 3Y program are intended for students who are beginning their study of French language or Spanish language and culture in senior high school.  These courses are designed to help students develop individual potential and to be better prepared for daily living, as well as for the challenges of the international world of work and travel. These two programs of studies allow students to acquire language skills in situations that reflect life experiences. Students who take second language programs may continue to use their language skills in work, community, educational or travel settings.  Students receive 5 credits for 125 hours of course work.
